From Building Scholar to Learning From Students

Scholar is now in the hands of real Students. What we believed learners need is being tested against how they actually use Scholar. Their feedback is shaping what comes next.

What We Accomplished

The most meaningful progress is not another tool. It is bringing more of a Student's academic experience together.

Writing Coach brings instructor feedback into revision, keeping the instructor's comments distinct from Scholar's coaching. Presentation Review extends support beyond papers.

My Courses adds the context of actual classes, so support starts with the work in front of the Student, not an isolated prompt.

What Students Are Teaching Us

An early High School pilot Student told us Home felt too long, with more on the page than Students were likely to use. Instead of defending the design, we listened.

We simplified Home around their goal, Today's Session, their Study Group, and Ask Scholar. Reporting still has a place, but it no longer competes with the next useful step.

That feedback changed more than a page. It reminded us that capability should make the experience clearer, not heavier.

Scholar in the Real World

Scholar is moving beyond internal development: early Student pilots, sponsored access, institutional conversations, and first onboarding steps.

This is still early adoption, not widespread use. The foundation is built; now we see how it holds up with real learners and learning communities.

Building the Complete Learner Experience

The direction is a connected learning journey, not a collection of unrelated tools:

  1. Course
  2. Assignment
  3. Writing / Presentation Support
  4. Instructor Feedback
  5. Learning Signals
  6. AI Coach
  7. Today's Mission
  8. Progress

Learning signals connect coaching with what deserves attention next as Students bring their work and feedback into Scholar. Context carried forward, not automatic assignment creation.

One Student. One Scholar.

What We're Learning

  • Simplicity matters, even when the technology is sophisticated.
  • Support is more useful when it understands actual courses and goals.
  • Student feedback reveals things internal testing cannot.
  • Real use should guide development, not adding features simply because we can.

Scholar Heads to Philadelphia

Scholar will be in Philadelphia November 19 through 22 for the NCTE Annual Convention, connecting with educators and listening to the people working with Students every day.

This is another opportunity for Scholar to learn from educators, share what we are building, and bring those insights back into the experience we are creating for Students.

What's Next

The coming quarter is about expanding Student participation, observing real use, and gathering feedback. That evidence will guide the next stage. We look forward to sharing what changes because of it.

Thank You

To the Students, families, educators, and early partners helping Scholar move from an idea into a real learning experience: thank you for your trust, your time, and your honest feedback.

One Student. One Scholar.
