Scholar only works when students actually use it. The Scholar Engagement Credit™ Program returns a portion of your eligible subscription fees when your institution reaches high, verified student engagement — applied as a credit toward your next renewal term.

What counts as an Engaged Scholar
A student with qualifying academic activity on 3+ separate days across at least 2 calendar weeks during the measurement period.
Measured against contracted seats
Engagement is calculated against total contracted seats — not just the seats a school happens to activate.
Fair deployment window
Measurement begins after a 30-day deployment window, and seats added in the final 90 days of a term are excluded.
Earned tiers are locked
Once your institution reaches a tier, that credit is locked for the term and cannot be lost.
Credits are calculated from Scholar's own engagement measurement, validated by Scholar, applied to the next renewal term and subject to the terms in the Scholar Engagement Credit™ Program Guide. Scholar pricing remains standardized; the credit is not a negotiated discount.
